Blogging 101 Class Starting

I am going to be starting a Blogging 101class on the 30th of April. This class is for real estate agents that would like to learn how to drive traffic from the internet search engines and convert that traffic into potential buyers or sellers.

I got the idea from a semi-class I did for the TenDayClose folks over at Academy Mortgage. I am helping them build an entire lead generation network of sites and increase the number of loans that they are doing over there (currently they are ranked fifth in the country, they want to be number one!)

The number one goal for real estate agents is to acquire listings. This Blogging 101 class is going to show them how to get set up for the process and the basic beginner introduction into blogging.

I am actually really excited to start this class, because I believe that the office I am in can benefit from having more leads or potential customers. (can’t we all?)

For example, a fellow agent in the office, whom you all may know now, Matt Dunshie has been blogging on his new site and getting traffic to convert to leads to convert to commissions. After the initial design was done, the site was customized to handle video blogging (now called vlogging), and that has turned the viewers to leads, which has lead to sales/listings.

That is the goal, to convert readership to prospects to commissions!

In return, I am asking those that follow me to reach out and let me know what troubles they may have had (or hurdles that they had to overcome) when they got started, so I can be sure to cover those topics.

I will be presenting this first class in a series of classes that will cover how to get started to how to close.

Here is a list of topics for the first class – Blogging 101:

  1. Programs to use (WP of course!)
  2. Step by Step instructions (how to get set up with WP)
  3. Writing Your First Article (topic suggestions)
  4. How to be Found – SEO (how to set up your article best of SEO)
  5. Readers to Commissions – Quickly! (converting traffic)
  6. Videos – Pros and Cons (vlogging details)
  7. Best Practices on Listings (how to set up your listing – visually)
  8. Google Maps – Get Listed! (google real estate listings how to)
  9. Referrals – Get Paid! (cross selling your leads)

Let me know what you think so far… I am also thinking about breaking this up into a session a piece, but have not really decided on that for now…this just might turn out to be introductory enough to skim each topic then dive into them in each subsequent class.
